K4AC Asks For Independent Expert Review Of Amateur Parity Act Bill

Announcement Date: March 1, 2016

At the January 2016 Board Meeting, the Legislative Advocacy Committee was created and K4AC was one of four Board members appointed to it. K4AC learned of concerns with the bill’s language. On a March 1, 2016 conference call of the committee, K4AC asked that one or more attorneys with experience in actually litigating PRB-1 cases and litigating cases against HOAs be tasked with a review of the bill’s language to see if there are problems with the language that could make future cases by amateurs unwinnable.

ARRL General Counsel Chris Imlay, who had authored the bill’s language, was on that conference call and became quite agitated at the request.
